Principal – Patricia Sollars

Our Principal Patricia Sollars has been delivering a warm Welsh welcome to pupils and teachers in Swansea for over thirty years. For many years the school was run in partnership with a tour operator in Germany but since 2022 has been run independently under it’s new title Sea at the Marina LTD.
A journey to Wales is around five hours from Dover but it is more than worth the wait! Our school is situated in the Marina in the heart of Swansea, with every classroom afforded a sea view and maybe even a meeting with our friendly sea lion ‘Bob’ who likes to pay the pupils a visit.
The journey from Dover to Swansea usually includes a stop at the famous Windsor Castle. A chance for the students and teachers to visit this beautiful town and have a Royal good time, before arriving in our coastal city.
Swansea is a small City which is famous for its beaches which includes the famous Gower Peninsula. The Gower was the first area in the United Kingdom to be awarded an area of outstanding natural beauty and to this day it does not disappoint! Excursions are offered to the beautiful Rhossili beach recently voted in the top ten beaches in the world by travel website Tripadvisor.
A visit to Swansea is a journey that will stay long in the memory. The City is well known for its beauty, its warmth and it’s friendly people who always have time for a chat. In Swansea the pace is a lot slower than most modern cities and is also a safe place for children to visit.
Our belief is that language tours and programmes should have a lasting impact on pupils, giving them confidence in their ability to be understood. Our teachers and host families are carefully sourced to ensure they are the right people to help pupils to feel confident, and get the most out of their experience ensuring each pupils needs and expectations are met.
Many of our groups have been returning for over twenty years and they return for the pupils to experience a language trip that they will fondly remember. A trip to Swansea may take a little longer but the experience the teachers and pupils receive is well worth the wait.
