Welcome to Sea at the Marina. We specialise in improving confidence and understanding for people who study English as a second language. We offer language courses that will develop your understanding, improve your conversational skills and sentence structure, and most importantly, give you the confidence to speak English.
We offer courses to schools, groups and individuals, and have been operating at the T.S. Ajax building at the Swansea Marina for over twenty years.
Many thousands of students have been welcomed into our hall, some nervously at first, to embark on a journey with our experienced teachers. An experience full of fun and variety then awaits with classroom lessons and activities, outdoor adventures and challenges, trips and excursions. Every day at the Marina is a day packed full of laughs and learning.
We have three hours of structured lessons every study day from 09:00 to 12:00. Lessons may be in the classroom, around the city or even at the beach! We have tailored a package to offer lessons to suit all ages and abilities. This is YOUR trip and we build our package around you.
In the afternoons we offer the opportunity of excursions throughout South Wales. You can visit Rhossili beach on the Gower Peninsula in Swansea (voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world), the cities of Swansea or Cardiff, the fabulous coastal town of Tenby, a working coal mine at Big Pit, or a number of museums, and best of all, they are all free of charge. We also visit other attractions such as the Principality Stadium, Dan Yr Ogof caves, and Cardiff, Kidwelly and Caerphilly Castle, however these do include a small charge for entry.
Swansea is found on the south coast, and is the second largest city in Wales with a population of just under 300,000 people. It’s a relatively small city that in the industrial revolution was at the centre of the copper smelting industry, giving it the nickname ‘Copperopolis’. Swansea today is very different place, and is known all over the world for its beautiful beaches, and rugged mountains and hills. It’s an area that has received a great deal of investment in recent years, with new additions to the City that include extensive development at the Marina where we are based, and also a new indoor Arena which has been built to house some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

All our courses include full board for pupils, and our training includes a welcome pack for each student, and a graduation certificate at the end of the course for their records.
